What can guests actually get embroidered?
Almost anything that hoops flat and holds a stitch. Here’s the menu we trust, the items we politely decline, and what happens when a guest hands us their own jacket.
The reliable lineup
Headwear leads every event: Richardson 112 truckers, Flexfit crowns, unstructured dad caps, and cuffed beanies all take names and monograms beautifully. Canvas totes are the workhorse — big flat panel, fast hooping, generous placement options. Crewnecks and fleece (Gildan heavyweights, premium quarter-zips) carry left-chest monograms or bold sleeve names. Waffle robes own the wedding morning. Sling and crossbody bags became our conference favorite — the face panel takes initials while a patch menu fills the rest, like the C-J bag in our gallery.
What we’ll steer you away from
Ultra-thin tri-blend tees pucker under dense stitching. Stretchy performance knits distort. Waterproof shells lose their rating the moment a needle passes through. Anything too small or rigid to hoop — wallets, hard cases — can’t go under the needle at all. None of these are dead ends: our patch lane heat-applies embroidered patches to most of them in about a minute, and a compact laser station handles leather-patch monograms on hard goods.
Fonts, monograms, and logos
We arrive with a vetted font kit — block, script, varsity, and a serif — pre-tested at event sizes so nothing illegible sneaks through. Monograms come in classic three-letter layouts; names run 10 to 12 characters comfortably on a cap arc. Your logo can join the menu if it’s digitized ahead of time (about a week of lead), and we always run a sample stitch before event day.
Guest-supplied pieces
Bring-your-own is welcome and often the best moment of the night — a denim jacket that leaves with a name on the collar has a story attached. The operator does a thirty-second fabric check first; anything delicate gets offered a patch instead of a risk.
